A Short Intro in case you don't know the kids . . . . .

Kansas CityÕs Get Up Kids are an incredible band who have constantly released albums of extremely melodic yet powerful punk rock. Call it Emo or Indie Rock or whatever you want. This is just great music from one of America's top Independent bands.

After a self-financed debut 7-inch, "Shorty," released on Proudhon Records the band began turning heads. Growing out of the attention garnered from their debut 7-inch, the band released a string of singles for various labels.

The "Woodson" 4-track EP was their first release on Doghouse Records and created a huge buss of excitement with the critics and more importantly helped expand their fan base.

The Get Up Kids fulfilled their early promise with an incredible debut album "Four Minute Mile" and followed it up with the "Red Letter Day" mini album.

Dodging the rosters of big-name labels, The Get Up Kids soon inked a contract with Vagrant Records to oversee their material "In the indie spirit, we started our own label and signed a deal with Vagrant Records to pretty much run the show." - says singer Matthew Pryor.

Since then Get Up Kids have released "Something to Write Home About" (Vagrant/H&V) U.S. and Epitaph Europe.

Some members of Get Up Kids & Coalesce also moonlight in the mysterious Reggie and the Full Effect In 2001 Get Up Kids released "Eudora", on Vagrant / Heroes & Villains Records a CD/2XLP collection of all the band's old 7"s, covers, compilation tracks and various other rare and out of print recordings. This 17 song collection spans the first six years of the band...all the way back to their first 7" that came out in 1996. The album also features a cover of the David Bowie classic "Suffragette City" that has previously never been released.
